Regional Access Director

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a Regional Access Director to lead admissions and access operations across our comprehensive care network. This strategic leader ensures timely, compassionate, and seamless access to care while delivering an exceptional patient and family experience.

Since 1977, Suncoast Hospice has served neighbors across Pinellas and Hillsborough counties with compassionate end-of-life care. Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary admissions team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure timely, seamless access to all Empath Health service lines while championing an exceptional patient and family experience across the care continuum.
• Drive key performance metrics including admissions conversion rates, customer experience outcomes, access responsiveness, compliance standards, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with physicians, hospital systems, business development teams, and community providers to strengthen referral relationships and expand access to care.
• Develop and implement admissions best practices, policies, workflows, and process improvements that support regulatory compliance and organizational goals.
• Utilize data, financial insights, and performance trends to guide strategic decision-making, optimize resources, and support departmental and organizational growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of seven years of nursing experience, preferably within hospice, palliative care, home health, or post-acute healthcare settings.
• At least three years of progressive leadership experience managing clinical, admissions, access, or care coordination teams.
• Strong knowledge of hospice operations, healthcare regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance benefits, and patient access best practices.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, build collaborative partnerships, analyze operational data, and drive measurable results in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
