About the Role
The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with the company's mission statement and policies.
Responsibilities
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Upholding and administering all theatre policies.
- Training, developing, coaching, and supervising non-management employees.
- Performing all staff positions as required.
- Operating all projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling (threading, building-up, tearing down) and maintenance.
- Maintaining working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, TMS operation, and related skills.
- Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
- Monitoring risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident reporting.
- Ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Counting, depositing, and reconciling all receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, etc.).
- Compliance with dress code and completion of the management certification program.
- Interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and terminating employees (with oversight from the General Manager or senior management).
- Administering all applicable HR paperwork and upholding company policies.
- Controlling costs, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession/café stock, and managing inventory and auditing processes.
- Supervising theatre maintenance (building and grounds), including minor repairs and coordinating qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns.
- Marketing and promoting feature film engagements, scheduling movie showtimes, and delivering showtimes to proper channels.
- Reading and understanding training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or other senior manager.
Qualifications
- At least three months of supervisory experience, or 6 months of theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof (subject to VP approval).
- If assigned duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete any legally required state/local training, including Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training.

- Language Ability: Strong public speaking skills; effective oral and written communication with employees, vendors, and corporate staff; active listening and clear explanation of information.
- Math Ability: Perform accurate calculations, identify and correct errors.
- Reasoning Ability: Identify problems, gather data, evaluate information, recognize alternatives, and recommend solutions; work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Computer and Office Skills: Proficient with PC platforms, basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets), copiers, and filing systems; attention to detail.
- Personal Skills: Interface effectively with customers, the public, and coworkers; sensitivity to others' feelings; ability to set goals, budget time, and prioritize tasks.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees; trains, coaches, plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; resolves complaints; disciplines employees (under General Manager’s direction).
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay
$19.50 per hour.
