About the Role

The Regional Business Manager (RBM) oversees daily operations of assigned CMD branch(es), including service and parts departments, administrative sales, and support teams. This role ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational efficiency to drive profitability and customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily branch operations, ensuring adherence to company personnel practices and policies.
  • Monitor branch operations, including invoices, petty cash, timecards, inventory controls, work in process, and housekeeping.
  • Analyze monthly receivable accounts and implement an effective collections system.
  • Review P&L and financial statements to identify risks and opportunities, developing measurable action plans for improvement.
  • Collaborate with division management and corporate office on sales, credit, accounting, service, and parts-related matters.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with subordinates to analyze the statement of earnings.
  • Enforce established systems and CMD Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for departmental productivity and personnel utilization.
  • Promote vendor and customer relations through periodic on-site visits.
  • Support non-OEM sales strategies and growth initiatives for parts and service departments.
  • Assist in developing gross profit and departmental expense goals on a monthly basis.
  • Travel regularly to branch locations to ensure operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and background in construction equipment.
  • Understanding of construction equipment industry terminology.
  • Proficiency in current technology for efficient time management.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent communication.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Adherence to CMD standard operating processes.
  • Ability to mentor, influence, and engage direct reports and team members.
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to provide responsive feedback.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on construction machinery business experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience with at least 5 direct reports.
  • Ability to data mine via ERP queries and act on dashboard outputs.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between assigned branches, splitting time equally.
