Refugee Employment Specialist - $23.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support to address barriers to employment throughout the program period.
• Maintain weekly contact with active participants, assessing and evaluating the psycho-social factors that contribute to their situation in order to determine their capabilities.
• Conduct needs assessments and identify resources to promote participants' interpersonal insight and professional development.
• Monitor clients' progress, addressing barriers to employment as necessary, and referring clients to community resources and other organizations.
• Network with community service providers, complete necessary reporting forms for government agencies and funding sources, and maintain appropriate communication with job developers and other funding sources.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field. Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with vulnerable individuals. Alternatively, a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Licenses/Certificates/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License, Registered and insured vehicle, N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.

• Required Trainings: VIRTUS, Corporate Compliance, Defensive Driving, Mandated Reporter.
