Refrigeration Trailer Technician

What You’ll Do

• Perform timely repairs and maintenance on reefer (refrigeration) units, including diesel-powered refrigeration systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues on trailer reefer units
• Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and service on A/C and refrigeration systems
• Conduct DOT inspections and trailer repairs when reefer units are in working condition
• Ensure vehicles and refrigeration units meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience working on reefer units and trailer refrigeration systems
• Strong proficiency and working knowledge of reefer (diesel-powered refrigeration) units, PMs, and A/C systems
• EPA Section 608 Certification required
• Required experience repairing refrigeration units (diesel engine) on heavy-duty trailers
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role

Working Conditions

• This role involves working in a mobile and/or shop environment that may include exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical irritants such as oils and greases.
• Technicians must be able to perform essential functions that include lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete repairs.
