Refrigeration Technician, HVAC, AM, Industrial Maintenance - Orlando

About the role

The Refrigeration Technician (HVAC) plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing HVAC and refrigeration systems across Publix's non-retail facilities. This position involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate HVAC and refrigeration systems in the Lakeland area.
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on rooftop package units, split HVAC systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, and chilled water systems.
• Guide and train entry-level refrigeration technicians.
• Participate in improvement activities to enhance HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Respond to unplanned breakdowns with urgency.
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as cleaning and washing equipment, maintaining clean work areas, and driving a company vehicle.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle immediately after start date.
• Ability to obtain EPA Section 608 certification within six months of start date.
• Medical clearance to wear respiratory protection within two weeks of start date.
• At least one year of experience in electrical systems, HVAC, chilled water, and refrigeration.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT, and Publix safety programs and regulations.
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Basic math skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hazmat Certification.
• NATE Certifications.
• Experience with Insight Control Systems, Carrier Comfort Link, and Envision Control Systems.
