What The Role Involves
- Diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, and ice machines.
- Perform diagnosis and repair work on conventional and rack refrigeration systems, evaporative and air-cooled condensers, ice machines, water pumps, compressors, air handlers, electric motors, and all types of HVAC units.
- Complete preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operating efficiencies and minimize downtime for customers.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean driver’s license/record
- EPA Certification, EPA 608 minimum types I and II or Universal
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the diagnosis and repair and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and/or HVAC equipment
- Certification from technical school or equivalent experience a PLUS!
The Ideal Candidate
- Ability to perform the job in a safe manner
- Proficient with diagnostic and repairs for self-contained refrigeration systems, walk-ins, ice machines repairs, and HVAC equipment
- Basic knowledge of supermarket refrigeration energy management systems a PLUS
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with customers
- Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results
- Must be able and willing to take lead when more than one tech is required for job
- Willing and able to work long hours on your feet, participate in on-call rotation which includes nights, weekends, and one or more holidays each year
