Major Duties
- Installs, repairs and maintains HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Maintains records of work performed.
- Affords assistance to other personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintains assigned tools and equipment.
Knowledge Required By The Position
- Knowledge of HVAC system installation, repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of relevant construction codes.
- Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Skill Required By The Position
- Diagnostic troubleshooting skill.
- Operational skill of job-related tools, vehicles and equipment.
- Oral and written communication skill.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
- The work is typically performed while standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping.
- The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, climbs ladders, and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
- The work is typically performed in an office or stockroom, in a variety of university buildings, and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
- The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals.
- The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance.
Pay and Benefits
Annual salary $31,116.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave package.
