The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio, having made possible over 55 million meals in 2017 to hungry people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland, and Richland counties. The Food Bank’s mission is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day through food distribution and SNAP outreach efforts.
About the role
Volunteers will help sort, weigh, and re-stack perishable food donated from various retail donors for distribution to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Volunteers may also sort frozen items into bins containing like items.
- Work in a refrigerated environment (bring your own jacket and gloves)
- Lift cases up to 40 lbs
Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Volunteers should be prepared to assist with any duty and remain flexible.
