Responsibilities

• Primarily interact with staff, patients, internal departments, physician practices, and insurance companies to obtain maximum reimbursement through established authorization procedures and order entry.
• Secure medication authorizations, infusion authorizations, and injectable authorizations for two providers.
• Work and communicate with the Provider's team to enable minimal turnaround times for patient care.

Requirements

• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Previous referrals and healthcare experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Skills

• Experience tracking referrals to avoid duplications and ensure completion.
• Ability to provide referral assistance to physicians, patients, and insurance companies.
• Knowledge of verifying insurance benefits and authorizations using online tools and direct contact with insurance carriers.
• Proficiency in registering patients in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
• Experience scheduling appointments and processing prescriptions and referrals.
• Knowledge of maintaining medical documentation.
