Overview
Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Referral Specialist for their CAC Department. This is a remote position but requires occasional on-site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between providers, patients, insurance companies, and clinical departments to schedule patients, verify insurance eligibility, and transcribe orders.
- Manage orders within assigned work queues.

- Consistently meets required department adherence and quality metrics.
- Requires knowledge of proper scheduling procedures, call handling, or preregistration requirements.
- Accountable to problem solve, investigate, and help resolve problems for work assignments.
- Must collaborate effectively with internal and external customers to reach desired results as determined by key performance indicators and leadership.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (required).
- 1 year of customer service experience (required).
- Medical Terminology (preferred).
- Epic experience (preferred).
