Pay
Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is an hourly position, 24 hours per week, located in Peoria, IL.
About the role
The Referral Specialist is responsible for the timely and efficient processing of referral orders. Organizes, coordinates, and communicates required information to patients, family members, providers, office staff, and insurance company representatives. Schedules appointments with specialists, facilities, and patients, and obtains insurance precertifications and/or authorizations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of work experience in a medical office setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience as a Medical Office Assistant
- Experience with referral coordination
- Experience working with health insurance payors
- Basic knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10
