About the role

We are looking to add a Part-Time / PRN Referral Specialist / Administrative Assistant to our staff in Des Moines, IA for the outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Processes new patient referrals to ensure accurate information is received and promptly scheduled with the therapist.
• Verifies each patient’s insurance coverage and obtains prior authorization when required.
• Provides correct paperwork to new patients and explains all information required prior to initial evaluation or treatment.
• Audits and tracks all information that belongs in patient medical files and ensures all files are completed prior to the closing of the files.
• Answers phones, manages office supplies and equipment, and assists patients, therapists, and vendors.
• Communicates promptly, courteously, and efficiently to all incoming phone calls, customers, and vendors, processing them in a timely manner.
• Handles the ordering and stocking of office supplies.
• Manages supplies, stocking, and maintenance of office equipment.
• Opens, posts, and distributes mail.
• Mails Birthday cards, Recruitment cards, and miscellaneous mailings as needed.
• Performs copying and typing as needed.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years prior office experience.
• Ability to identify and manage details.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other various software.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work and manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• High level of organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks without supervision.

Pay

$16-$18 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Schedule

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, flexible.
