Referral Specialist

About the role

Performs clerical, reception, scheduling and patient financial account functions. Assists in coordinating primary health care services to a large outpatient client population.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, reviews and assigns and/or distributes all referrals/faxes.
• Verifies eligibility and status of referrals when appropriate for the physician office and/or member.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous training in general medical office skills and procedures.
• Proficient and knowledgeable of medical terminology.
• One to two year's experience is preferred.
• Recent physician office, hospital business office or background in claims or customer service required.
• Computer proficient and appropriate telephone etiquette skills required.
