Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes signed physician orders/referrals to ensure accurate clinical documentation for care delivery, specialty and outpatient ancillary referrals.
• Conducts online insurance eligibility/benefit verification.
• Obtains pre‑certification/authorization and referral clearance.
• Provides financial education on designated cases.
• Notifies patient/guarantor, specialist, referring provider, etc., with pertinent information (clinical documentation, referral status, follow‑up, etc.).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); college degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical office, call center, patient access area, or customer service in a business environment (college degree may substitute for work experience on a year‑for‑year basis).
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast‑paced call center environment.
• Working knowledge of computers and technology including Windows, Excel, and Internet/Intranet navigation tools.
• Strong verbal, written, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a self‑directed manner while interacting with patients, physicians, and departmental partners.
• Typing speed of 35 CWPM required.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday predictable daytime schedule.
• Weekends free.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
