Referral Coordinator - Benefitted Temp position

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for patient referrals, pre-authorizations, scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and providing general office support duties.

• Ensures documents are accurately handled in a timely manner
• Daily monitoring of all initial referrals and follow-up tasks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous experience operating personal computers and using Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office
• Preferred: Six (6) months experience working with various insurance referral and documentation needs
• One (1) year directly related experience or training
• Knowledge of basic medical coverage plans including HMO, PPO, State programs and other types of coverage
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Pay

The salary range for this position is $24.25 - $24.25 per hour. Factors that may be used to determine placement within the range include the employee's specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. For PRN positions, pay rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience or shift commitment according to department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.

Schedule

This is a temporary position eligible for benefits and conversion into a permanent position. There is an opportunity to lead into a regular full-time position.
