Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center. The property features 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel offers over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms, and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
About the role
The Bartender will provide efficient, friendly customer service while maintaining a clean, professional, and top-quality bar.
Responsibilities
- Follow, enforce, and adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, standards, and recipes.
- Properly set up and maintain a clean, efficient bar throughout the shift.
- Greet guests with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
- Take orders and answer questions about food and beverage menu selections, including daily specials.
- Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the wine list, stemware, and appropriate garnishes.
- Follow procedures outlined in the employee manual and bartender’s manual, including jigger pour and drink preparation only when rung in on Micros.
- Ensure consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
- Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws.
- Record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of order and adhere to cash handling standards.
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
- Present accurate checks to guests and process payments.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
- Polish and clean water glasses in assigned station before opening hours.
- Perform station set-up, breakdown, and side-work.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of bartending experience.
- Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer, with experience selling and presenting wines.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Environment & Physical Demands
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
