Red Seal Mechanic

About the Role

This position provides maintenance and repair support for mobile and static explosive pumping equipment, including troubleshooting, inspections, and preventative maintenance. It involves traveling within Western Canada and working outside in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair explosive pumping and manufacturing equipment
• Assist with vehicle audits and regulatory inspections
• Perform fleet maintenance and inspections
• Ensure regulatory compliance and hazard management
• Fault find and repair prime mover explosives delivery units

Requirements

• Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate in Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license with air (asset)
• Experience in electrical, hydraulic repair, and failure diagnosis
• Knowledge of Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants; experience with pumps is a plus
• Strong safety focus, attention to detail, and ability to work in heavy equipment environments
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft and preferably SAP systems
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all conditions
• Willing to undertake confined space training
• Clean driver’s abstract; CVIP is an asset
