Mechanic

About the role

At Trawick Construction Company, LLC, as a Mechanic, you’ll perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. You’ll ensure all vehicles operate safely and efficiently, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans for vehicles and equipment based on cost/benefit analysis
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment
• Inspect and provide strategic recommendations for proactive maintenance
• Follow work procedures for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment such as trackhoes, backhoes, and other specialized machinery
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have your own basic mechanics tools
• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• A High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or 3 years of relevant work experience
• A valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on fleet vehicles or commercial equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment

Qualifications

• Must be able to work at the shop in Chipley each day
