Red River Area Sector Leader – Energy
Kleinfelder is seeking a motivated, externally focused Area Sector Leader to drive business development initiatives within the Energy sector across Texas and Oklahoma. We are looking for an energetic and dynamic professional with a business development background and a strong understanding of the Energy market in the Red River Area (Texas and Oklahoma).
About the Role
The successful candidate will grow lasting relationships, assess economic drivers, market conditions, and the competitive landscape to leverage Kleinfelder’s capabilities and expand business with both existing and potential clients. This role involves identifying and executing strategies to penetrate the Energy market, defining Kleinfelder’s position within the sector, and managing business development and project management staff.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the National and Central Division Energy Sector Leaders to achieve transformative growth in the Energy Sector across the Red River Area.
- Meet or exceed the Red River Energy market plan objectives for Sales, Net Revenue, Cost of Sales, and Profitability.
- Plan annual goals and budgets for Energy Sector activities to support overall Red River goals.
- Analyze energy market drivers and identify unique new business opportunities for high growth and profitability.
- Contribute to business planning efforts and manage conferences and other overhead expenses.
- Assist Area personnel in evaluating prospective clients and opportunities, reinforcing sound business decision-making.
- Engage in specific sales efforts such as proposals, proposal reviews, and interviews for major pursuits.
- Mentor seller/doers and client account managers to improve their business development skills.
- Manage client business development and delivery teams, as assigned.
- Engage in recruiting, mentorship, coaching, and performance reviews of employees within the energy sector.
- Participate in national and local organizations and conferences important to clients and the Energy Sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental, planning, or a related technical field (preferred).
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years in marketing and/or sales within engineering consulting or related A/E/C services.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated progressive experience and success in acquiring and/or delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
- 10+ years of direct interaction with Texas/Oklahoma project stakeholders.
