Responsibilities
- Assess the quality of scrap bales of material to ensure they meet company standards
- Perform regular resin checks to verify material composition and quality
- Conduct tests on pellets to ensure they meet quality specifications
- Review and verify process control documents to ensure compliance with established procedures
- Perform spot checks on production lines to ensure blend accuracy
- Evaluate the quality of materials purchased from suppliers and provide feedback to ensure they meet company specifications
- Track supplier performance and fallout rates to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure the recycling department adheres to the Quality Management System (QMS) by monitoring processes and implementing necessary improvements
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain detailed records of quality control activities
- Work closely with production and procurement teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; additional technical training or certification in quality control or a related field is a plus
- Previous experience in quality control, preferably in a recycling or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in using quality control tools and software
