About the Role
The Rector of the Harling and Guiltcross benefice will serve a rural community in the Diocese of Norwich, providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and mission-focused ministry across multiple parishes. The role involves fostering collaboration among congregations, engaging with local communities, and supporting the growth of faith through worship, teaching, and outreach.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the parishes within the Harling and Guiltcross benefice.
- Lead regular worship services, including Eucharist, Morning/Evening Prayer, and special services for festivals and life events.
- Oversee the mission and evangelism efforts of the benefice, encouraging growth and engagement with the wider community.
- Support and develop lay ministry, including training and empowering volunteers for various roles within the church.
- Work collaboratively with churchwardens, PCCs (Parochial Church Councils), and other local leaders to manage church affairs and buildings.
- Engage with schools, local organizations, and community groups to build relationships and promote the church’s role in the area.
- Provide pastoral care to individuals and families, including visiting the sick, elderly, and those in need.
- Oversee the administration of sacraments, including baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
- Participate in diocesan activities, meetings, and training opportunities as required.
