The Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at Oklahoma State University is a student-focused team dedicated to our Land-Grant mission, living by the Cowboy Code. Responsibilities
- Work Within An Overall Strategy That Helps Strengthen Your Recruitment Impact
- Demonstrate Self-direction, Creativity, And Strategic Thinking In Prospect Development, Yield Enhancement, Customer Service, And Problem Resolution
- Collaborate with admissions counselors and campus partners, including the OSU Honors College, to ensure prospective students have a positive and well-rounded recruitment experience
- Determine and execute strategies for effective outreach for students in assigned territories
- Develop and initiate communication through calls, texts, emails, and personal interactions with prospective students, families, and counselors which may include monthly benchmarks for contact
- Conduct recruitment activities that further progress towards enrollment goals
- Conduct trend analysis for your assigned territory and formulate action plans based on that analysis
- Integrate your analysis and planning into the University’s overall enrollment plan
- Serve, promote, and represent the University with excellence as the first point of contact for prospective students, families, and counselors and as an additional point of contact for scholar recruitment and VIP students, families, and counselors
- Discuss and make clear OSU admissions, housing, scholarship, and financial aid processes and policies
- Present personalized virtual and in-person appointments for students and families to ensure they feel confident in their college search process and understand OSU’s value
- Attend and assist with recruitment, conversion, and yield activities designed to market the university to prospective students
- Maintain daily operations of a personalized visit program, including the hiring, supervising, and development of up to two student staff members who collaborate with internal and external partners to create itineraries for personalized campus visits
- Provide counsel to prospective students, families and guests to meet customer service goals
- Assist with daily office operations including answering phones, responding to email, and greeting campus visitors
- Travel Cowboys come from all parts of the world, and we do our best to meet them in their home communities. You will most often connect with future Cowboys on campus but may need to travel during certain parts of the year. You will find that you need to effectively plan and execute in- and out-of-state travel multiple times per year, typically between 1 and 3 days per trip with minimal overnight stays
- Represent the university in various environments
- Publicize full name, work contact information, and time, date, and/or location of recruitment activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Recruitment Specialist I - One year of related experience
- Recruitment Specialist II - Two years of related experience
- Valid Driver's License required
Qualifications
- The ability to lift 45 lbs
Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
- A high level of internal and external public contact serving as a liaison between the Admissions Office, various academic units and other organizations within the university
- Strong written, verbal communication and technical skills are necessary
- Knowledge of MS applications
