Recruitment & Retention Caseworker

About the Role

Jefferson County Human Services is seeking a Caseworker to provide Child Welfare services using Partnering for Safety techniques to engage families. This position includes Recruitment/Retention and Certification Caseworker duties for the Collaborative Foster Care Program of Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties. The employee will be primarily stationed at the Arapahoe Plaza building in Littleton, CO.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the Foster Care recruitment component of the Collaborative Foster Care Program.
• Identify inefficiencies in recruitment efforts and recommend solutions.
• Plan, organize, and conduct events and activities to recruit foster families.
• Identify barriers to retention of foster families and develop programming to increase retention.
• Stay up-to-date on local and national research regarding foster family recruitment.
• Provide placement desk back-up coverage and support other primary responsibilities within the program.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations to recruit foster families.
• Manage the 1-KID foster care recruitment line and respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
• Work with Public Information Officers to create effective communication and advertisements.
• Manage social media platforms for the Collaborative Foster Care Program.
• Author and manage grant applications to fund recruitment programs.
• Represent the program at community events and festivals, often during evenings and weekends.
• Manage "Recruitment Day" events in all three counties.
• Engage current foster families to solicit their involvement in recruitment efforts.
• Co-manage the Information Night team and facilitate sessions during evenings and weekends.
• Provide crisis intervention to foster care providers as needed.
• Manage a workload of certification cases, assessing families' abilities to provide safe placement.
• Ensure foster families comply with Volume 7 regulations and collaborate with youth teams.
• Manage the internal Support Group for the Collaborative Foster Care Program.
• Co-manage a foster family support and coaching program to increase retention.
• Research and identify resources, events, and information for foster family retention.
• Manage the weekly CFCP Newsletter to communicate retention information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Thorough knowledge of social casework principles related to child protection.
• Knowledge of child development, parenting, attachment, and separation.
• Skill in interviewing techniques, crisis intervention, and treatment modalities.
• Knowledge of community resources and agency rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, formulate plans, and make quick decisions.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
• Ability to testify effectively in court hearings.
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with foster care policy, rules, and Volume 7 regulations.
• Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) certification or willingness to obtain.

Pay

Hiring Range: $68,345-$72,500 USD Annually

Schedule

Personal Choice Work Model: After six months, employees can work with their supervisor to develop a flexible work model, balancing office, community, and remote work. This position requires evening and weekend work for community events and family meetings.
