About the Role
The recruiter is responsible for sourcing, recruitment, and selection of new employees and internal applicants for assigned regions. Responsibilities include job requisition creation, job postings, applicant sourcing, screenings, interview scheduling, applicant communications, background screening coordination, offer development (in collaboration with hiring managers and human resources), offer acceptance, and requisition completion.
This role establishes excellent working relationships with managers, regional leadership, and HR business partners to proactively manage vacancies and provide guidance throughout the recruitment-to-offer process.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruiting process: create and close job requisitions/postings, collaborate with HR to understand hiring needs, update job descriptions, and communicate with applicants.
- Develop and execute candidate generation strategies using the applicant tracking system and other methods for all positions.
- Maintain an inventory of candidates.
- Review resumes and screen applicants using various methods to determine the most qualified candidates.
- Forward pre-screened resumes to hiring managers and discuss qualifications with them.
- Participate in interview panel selection and facilitate hiring recommendations.
- Conduct internal equity research for offers, promotions, and transfers to make appropriate salary recommendations.
- Assist HR and hiring managers in developing compensation packages and conducting reference checks.
- Present and negotiate job offers.
- Act as a resource on recruitment regulations, standards, and compliance (e.g., EEO/AAP, OFCCP).
- Perform needs analysis, job analysis, and recruitment planning for specific regions.
- Evaluate resumes and match candidates to positions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience/training preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or Recruiting role.
- Industry experience in construction, mining aggregate, or related fields is a plus.
- Experience with Taleo or Oracle Recruiting (applicant tracking systems).
- Knowledge of recruitment practices, sourcing techniques, and employment law (e.g., discrimination laws).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
- Analytical skills and familiarity with statistical methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Approximately 20% domestic travel may be required.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to quickly understand others’ needs.
