About the Role
Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans tailored to the specific needs of the commercial HVAC and plumbing industries. Source and attract top talent through diverse channels, screen candidates for technical expertise and safety standards, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans tailored to the commercial HVAC and plumbing industries.
- Source and attract candidates through job boards, social media, industry networks, and trade schools.
- Screen and evaluate candidates to ensure they meet job requirements, technical expertise (e.g., HVAC systems, pipefitting, electrical systems), and safety standards.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews with candidates and hiring managers, managing all communication and feedback.
- Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring accurate documentation and regular updates of candidate information and recruitment activity.
- Negotiate offers of employment, salary, and benefits packages, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Stay current on industry trends, labor laws, and competitive compensation to provide market intelligence to management.
- Attend industry events and job fairs to network and build a pipeline of qualified, passive candidates.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a recruiter within the commercial construction, HVAC, or plumbing industry.
- Deep understanding of specialized roles (e.g., Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Estimators, Technicians, Installers) and the technical skills required for each.
- Familiarity with HR databases and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online recruiting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed).
Education
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
