About the role
Reporting to the Workforce Planning & Business Analyst, the Recruiting Specialist will source, recruit, and manage all vacant requisitions (Salaried, General Labour, Trades) within the remote services division. Supported by the Workforce Planning & Business Analyst, you will collaborate with the Vice President Emerging Markets & Strategic Development, Senior Managers, and Human Resources to fill the recruitment pipeline and attract key talent that aligns with Dexterra's brand. This role involves full-cycle recruiting, from developing postings to participating in the onboarding of new employees.
Responsibilities
- Diligently screen qualified candidates through resume review and phone screen.
- Conduct recruitment planning conversations with hiring managers.
- Determine the appropriate sourcing channels for job postings and recommend ways to recruit for hard-to-fill positions.
- Create a candidate pipeline for future recruitment needs.
- Develop performance-based phone interview questions for hourly field-based roles.
- Verify offer letter details (wage, start date, orientation times, background, and D&A testing) with HR and Workforce Planning & Business Analyst.
- Create and send accurate offer letters; participate and lead in offer presentations.
- Ensure all new hire onboarding documents are sent to chosen candidates and completed within the timeframe.
- Participate in and run new hire orientations.
- Attend various recruitment-related information sessions and career fairs to enhance Dexterra’s remote workforce employer brand and promote career opportunities.
- Manage an up-to-date recruitment tracking spreadsheet and utilize Smart Recruiters (applicant tracking system) for full-cycle recruitment and candidate management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources or a relevant field is an asset.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in high-volume recruiting for industrial/skilled trades across multiple locations.
- High level of professional and timely customer service both internally and externally.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume recruitment and create candidate pipelines in tight labor markets.
- Initiative to develop creative solutions to recruitment challenges and effectively source both active and passive candidates.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the Human Resources team and other stakeholders.
- Experience working with Smart Recruiters is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and MS Outlook.
