Recruiter
A Contract to Hire position based in Lansing, IL.
About the role
This role focuses on full-cycle recruiting, especially for manufacturing and hourly positions. It encompasses onboarding, employee relations support, investigations, HR compliance initiatives, training support, and general HR administration, with the aim of developing into a comprehensive HR Generalist function.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interviews, background checks, and offer letter administration.
- Focus on hourly manufacturing and technical recruiting needs.
- Build talent pipelines through LinkedIn, job boards, job fairs, trade schools, and community partnerships.
- Maintain communication with hiring managers regarding candidate status and hiring progress.
- Drive hiring efforts to support ongoing staffing demands and workforce growth.
- Assist with onboarding activities for new hires.
- Support day-to-day HR operations and administrative processes.
- Help maintain consistency with HR policies and procedures.
- Serve as an HR resource for managers and employees.
- Provide backup support during peak workloads or team absences.
- Assist HR leadership with employee relations matters.
- Support workplace investigations and documentation efforts.
- Help managers understand and apply company policies appropriately.
- Promote accountability and positive workplace culture initiatives.
- Contribute to training, learning, and development initiatives as needed.
- Assist with departmental growth initiatives and special projects.
- Demonstrate a willingness to expand HR knowledge and responsibilities over time.
Requirements
- Approximately 3+ years of experience in recruiting and/or HR.
- Strong full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Experience supporting hourly manufacturing hiring.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with managers and leadership.
- Exposure to broader HR functions beyond recruiting.
- Professional maturity and ability to fit into a collaborative HR team environment.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Paycom experience is a plus.
- Experience assisting with employee relations matters.
- Exposure to training and development initiatives.
- Experience with recruiting events, job fairs, LinkedIn sourcing, trade schools, and talent pipeline development.
Schedule
Fully onsite position in Lansing with standard business hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility to adjust the schedule occasionally to support multiple manufacturing shifts, and potential future travel to other company locations as business needs dictate.
Pay
$30.00 - $34.00/hr.
