Recruiter
Andrus (Julia Dyckman Andrus Memorial) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping children, families, and communities build strong, hopeful futures through stability, resilience, and healing. The organization delivers coordinated social and emotional support using a trauma-responsive Sanctuary Model and a justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion lens. Services are provided in homes, communities, a 110-acre campus in Yonkers/Hastings, and 26 school-based mental health clinics across Westchester, focusing on skills that help children and families manage strong emotions and reduce the need for inpatient care. About the role
This is a full-time, hybrid (4 days in office/1 day remote) Recruiter role based in Yonkers, NY. The Recruiter will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring processes for a variety of clinical, administrative, and support positions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
- Craft inclusive job postings.
- Maintain relationships with external recruiting sources.
- Attend job fairs or community events to build talent pipelines.
- Ensure a positive, respectful candidate experience.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records.
- Support onboarding activities in collaboration with HR and program leadership.
- Contribute to recruitment strategies that align with Andrus’s mission, Sanctuary Model, and commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers.
- Skills in building and maintaining relationships with hiring managers, community partners, and external recruiting sources.
- Ability to write clear, inclusive job descriptions and recruitment communications aligned with organizational values.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and basic HR documentation and compliance practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and sensitivity to working with diverse children, families, and communities.
- Ability to work on-site in Yonkers, NY, collaborate across programs, and manage multiple searches simultaneously.
- Relevant experience in nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or education recruitment is preferred.
