Recreational Therapy Aide, Center City Skilled Nursing (PT)

About the Role

The Recreation Therapy Aide plans, organizes, and implements individual and group activities tailored to the needs of residents at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center. This role operates under the direction of the Director of Recreation Therapy and focuses on delivering person-specific care.

Responsibilities

• Implements recreation programs through age-appropriate physical, cognitive, social, and emotional activities inside the facility, including planning and executing large and small group activities as well as individual leisure pursuits.
• Completes required documentation, such as daily attendance records, quarterly activity reviews, and goal setting, and assists with documentation for the plan of care.
• Conducts activity assessments for all admissions and readmissions as assigned.
• Assists with facility-sponsored special events, including resident transportation, event setup, and cleanup.
• Distributes monthly activity calendars, monitors supplies for scheduled activities, and decorates units/lobby areas for theme events and holidays under the Director’s direction.
• Provides direction and support to volunteers and students as assigned.
• Attends required in-services or educational programs to maintain knowledge and competence.
• Assists residents with exercising their citizenship rights, including voting and absentee ballot assistance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience working with a geriatric population (preferred).
• Must obtain or maintain CPR certification.
• Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable).
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and facility personnel.
• Valid PA driver’s license preferred; if selected as a driver, must pass Allied Services’ Driver Training Program.
