Recreational Gymnastics Rec Instructor
About the role
The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Gymnastics Instructors for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers opportunities to teach a variety of recreational gymnastics classes, assist with summer camps, and create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and age-appropriate gymnastics classes in a positive, professional, and encouraging manner.
- Teach fundamental gymnastics skills while supporting each student's individual growth and development.
- Monitor and track participant progress and adapt instruction to meet varying skill levels and learning styles.
- Create a safe learning environment by following all gymnastics safety procedures and conducting routine equipment and facility checks.
- Prepare lesson plans and class activities that keep participants motivated, active, and engaged.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates, answering questions, and supporting participant success.
- Arrive prepared for classes and assist with program setup, cleanup, and equipment organization.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions and collaborate with the Gymnastics Supervisor to enhance program quality.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and uphold all Club policies and safety standards.
Requirements
- Passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and succeed.
- A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent member service.
- Ability to create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for participants of all ages and abilities.
- Previous experience working with children through coaching, teaching, childcare, camps, sports, recreation, or gymnastics is preferred.
- Gymnastics experience, either as a coach or participant, is helpful but not required.
- Willingness to learn spotting techniques, class management skills, and gymnastics instruction methods.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including spotting participants, moving equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in an active gym environment.

Schedule
Flexible schedules are available, with opportunities ranging from 4 to 15+ hours per week. Shifts are available Monday through Sunday, and candidates must be available to work at least one weekend day.
