Recreation Therapist (PRN)
Clive Behavioral Health opened in February 2021 with 100 inpatient beds for adult, child, and adolescent patients experiencing a severe behavioral health crisis. Care at this location focuses on crisis management, stabilization, and development of a plan to return to community living with supportive outpatient services and community resources as needed.
About the Role
The Recreation Therapist (RT) is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs, defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement activity services for assigned programs.
- Define and implement treatment goals as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Art, Music, Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related therapeutic discipline.
- One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Certification or licensure required: CTRS, OTR/L, MT-BC, ATR-BC.
- Successful completion of CPR/BLS Certification.
- Successful completion of Handle with Care training (may be obtained during new hire orientation).
