Recreation Therapist-Pace, FT, Days

About the Role

Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates a variety of recreation programs and services to meet participant needs for social, physical, and cognitive functioning.

Responsibilities

• Performs appropriate initial recreational therapy assessments and re-assessments upon referral from Interdisciplinary Team.
• Communicates participant changes to team members.
• Develops specific therapeutic programs as part of the plan of care to include recreational and social activities.
• Documents accordingly in the participant's medical record.
• Develops, implements, and supervises the activity program.
• Serves as a resource to staff and coordinates volunteer activities at the center.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field of study.
• One (1) year of experience in an environment with a frail or elderly population.
• CPR certification.

Skills

• Knowledge of office equipment.
• Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).
• Recreational therapy activity skills.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy equipment.

Schedule

Day shift.

Location: Richland Chapin Facility, 1539 Seniorcare - Midlands.
