RECREATION THERAPIST (Certified) - PRN

About the Role

Windmoor Healthcare, a 144-bed comprehensive behavioral health care facility in Clearwater, Florida, provides a wide range of inpatient and partial hospitalization programs and services. The facility specializes in the intensive treatment of dual diagnosis issues with a highly individualized, comprehensive approach guiding patients and their families through intervention, assessment, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate visual music or art (drawing, painting, and other art forms) and the creative process with models of counseling and psychotherapy.
• Use the creative process of self-expression to help clients resolve conflicts/problems, increase self-esteem, self-awareness, and achieve insight.
• Perform duties in an effective and efficient manner, consistent with current standards for the position and facility policies/procedures.
• Maintain appropriate documentation on client progress as required by regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Work independently and as a self-starter.
• Work weekends as required.

Requirements

• Must possess CTRS or a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, or Music Therapy.
• Three years of experience in Recreational Therapy is preferred.
• One year of experience in a psychiatric or chemical dependency field is preferred.
