Responsibilities
- Evaluates, formulates, and reviews treatment plans for patients.
- Performs and documents procedures and treatments according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Assesses each patient's level of functioning, including comprehension, performance capabilities, interactive skills, and ADL skills.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributes to treatment planning.
- Engages in unit-based quality improvement processes.
- Serves as a patient advocate, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
- Controls costs while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
- Reports potential patient safety issues using the occurrence reporting system.
- Follows guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or adverse outcomes.
- Attends in-service presentations and completes mandatory education requirements.
- Improves patient safety through the use of Performance Improvement Plans.
- Maintains regular, punctual, and dependable attendance.
- Responds appropriately to manpower requests as a crisis prevention intervention trained staff member.
- Promotes positive patient interactions and exceptional patient service.
- Adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement”.
Requirements
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment.
- Fingerprint required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Recreational Therapy.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Recreation Therapist certification.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of therapy programs under the RT scope of practice.
- Ability to assess and document patient levels of functioning.
- Experience in multidisciplinary team settings.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ability to control costs without compromising patient safety.
- Proficiency in the occurrence reporting system.
- Understanding of Performance Improvement Plans.
- Positive attitude and dedication to patient care.
