Responsibilities
- Plan and organize recreational activities.
- Coach all athletic teams.
- Organize and oversee all competitions and tournaments.
- Show detainees the proper way to safely use recreational equipment.
- Inspect recreation area for cleanliness and safety.
- Provide weekly safety training to recreation orderlies and clerks.
- Check all detainees in and out of the gym.
- Maintain recreation department records.
- Maintain and schedule the repair of recreation equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Additional education in Physical Education, recreational therapy, or related field highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with an inmate population or in a physical education program is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
If you are a quality team player and truly love to see people succeed, then you are in the right place. This position requires only a high school diploma. However, a degree in Physical Education, Recreational Therapy, or any field related to that is highly desirable.
