Recreation Program Worker (Camp Now & Then)

About the role

Under general direction, performs routine work of moderate difficulty in supervising and leading children's activities. Must be organized, reliable and good with children ages 5-12.

Schedule

• Monday, Wednesday, & Friday | 8am – 5:30pm | May 26 – July 31
• Tuesday & Thursday | 8am – 5:30pm | May 26 – July 31

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Recreation Program Manager and Recreation Program Leader; lead and teach children games, arts and crafts, sports and outdoor activities
• Perform minor custodial duties in facilities and surrounding park areas
• Provide supervision and guidance to a group of children under the direction of a program leader
• Carry out program activities
• Foster positive, healthy relationships with children

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age to apply
• Good knowledge of recreational activities
• Knowledge of working with children in a group situation
• Ability to establish a good rapport with children and still maintain discipline
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor settings
• Perform job duties in hot, humid or windy weather conditions
• CPR Certification is required prior to first day of job
