Recreation Program Supervisor
About the role
The Program Supervisor will develop, oversee, and schedule daily activities for recreation-related programs and facility events at the Lilburn Activity Building. This position supervises staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff training, enforcing policies and procedures, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety of program participants and facility operations, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
- Implement and schedule programming and special events for the facility, parks, pavilions, and athletic fields
- Develop, communicate, and enforce guidelines, policies, and procedures for facility user groups
- Complete and process paperwork and permit requests, including handling rentals for indoor/outdoor recreation, athletic, and pavilion facilities
- Prepare and maintain records and forms related to program objectives, evaluations, rules, regulations, ordinances, and financial statuses
- Oversee daily operations, including facility maintenance, cash handling, budget preparation and monitoring, purchasing, and completing Civic Rec entries for camps, programs, and classes
- Coordinate activities with internal and external departments to determine programming needs
- Evaluate program objectives and marketing strategies, and advertise upcoming programs and events across multi-media platforms, including outreach events
- Receive and resolve complaints, interacting with user groups, the public, and volunteers for public relations
- Oversee youth development programs, including camps and adventure days out
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
- Address coworkers, supervisors, and the general public in a public setting to express the department's missions and goals
- Interact with user groups, associations, and other agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, or a closely related field
- Two years of related recreation support experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Valid Driver's License
- CPR and First Aid Certification (within 6 months of hire)
Schedule
This position may require working a variety of hours, including weekends, daytime, evenings, and/or holidays.
