Duties
- Makes sure the facilities are monitored and maintained.
- Serves as a supervisor for the facilities and volunteers.
- Works to ensure a safe and healthy environment for participants.
- Communicates effectively with different populations and builds rapport with clients.
- Notifies the Fitness and Recreation Manager in advance if unable to work a scheduled shift.
- Works morning, evening, and weekend hours, based on the agreed-upon schedule.
- Aids in the setup and teardown of equipment for various programs.
- Assists with specialized recreation programs within the department.
- Participates in camps, clinics, and special events as needed throughout the year.
- Assists in the planning and execution of programs such as Pickleball, Kroc Splash Pond, Summer Camp, Afterschool Program, Youth and Kroc Kids Programs, Corps Programming, Leagues, tournaments, Open Gym Time, Kroc Park Activities, etc.
Qualifications
- Displays good character and passion for impacting others' lives through sports and recreation.
- Has a good understanding of sports.
- Excellent communication skills to work positively with different populations.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- If driving is part of the responsibilities, must have a valid driver's license and pass a Salvation Army 12 passenger driving test.
