What We Offer

• This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role.
• This position will work no more than 39 hours per week.
• The pay rate for this position is $19.80/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan.
• This position is not eligible for other additional benefits.
• On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

Location

In this position you can expect to work on-site at one or multiple recreation centers throughout the city of Denver.

What You’ll Do

• Assist full-time staff in planning and implementing programs.
• Maintain a safe, fun, and trusting program environment for all participants.
• Work directly with recreation center staff to aid in facilitation of programs.
• Execute instructional plans using prescribed and accepted teaching methods for group and individual instruction.
• Evaluate and communicate student/participant progress to all appropriate staff.
• Review completed program participant evaluation tools, using findings to increase program and instructional effectiveness.
• Aid in the organization and coordinating of special events.
• Perform various tasks to provide program administrative support.
• Drive a small bus to transport participants on trips.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
• Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities.
• Licensure/Certification: Requires certification in CPR and First Aid within six (6) months of date of hire.
