What We Offer
- This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role.
- This position will work no more than 39 hours per week.
- The pay rate for this position is $19.80/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan.
- This position is not eligible for other additional benefits.
- On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
Location
In this position you can expect to work on-site at one or multiple recreation centers throughout the city of Denver.
What You’ll Do
- Assist full-time staff in planning and implementing programs.
- Maintain a safe, fun, and trusting program environment for all participants.
- Work directly with recreation center staff to aid in facilitation of programs.
- Execute instructional plans using prescribed and accepted teaching methods for group and individual instruction.
- Evaluate and communicate student/participant progress to all appropriate staff.
- Review completed program participant evaluation tools, using findings to increase program and instructional effectiveness.
- Aid in the organization and coordinating of special events.
- Perform various tasks to provide program administrative support.
- Drive a small bus to transport participants on trips.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities.
- Licensure/Certification: Requires certification in CPR and First Aid within six (6) months of date of hire.
