Recreation & Fitness Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Designs and delivers engaging recreation and fitness programs
- Fosters a welcoming atmosphere
- Supports a variety of fitness offerings that keep people active, connected, and motivated
- Oversees all programming, development, design, implementation and evaluation of recreation programming and other designated areas
- Promotes recreation and other program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation
- Creates and maintains league and tournament brackets
- Supervises recreation program and facilities; interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety
- Performs recreation maintenance responsibilities; ensures playing facilities and equipment are functional and always stocked
- Provides individual and group exercise instruction as applicable and educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management or related discipline required or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council or American Safety & Health Institute
- Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA or other specialty certification; if not current, will be required within 3 months if hire
- NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency; if not current, will be required within 1 year of hire
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in running leagues and creating tournament brackets required
- Able to maintain a flexible schedule to meet program needs
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Able to effectively organize and prioritize work demands
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management or related discipline

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $19.00 - $22.50/hour. Additional commission opportunities for someone with an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved Personal Trainer certification. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
Schedule
Schedule: 🕒 Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. 🔄 Occasional shift flexibility (e.g., 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) ✅ No weekends
