The Position Are you looking for a part-time job that is flexible and fun? Portland Parks & Recreation is hiring for Recreation's Arts, Culture, and Special Events Division! We're collecting names of people who are interested in working future part-time or seasonal jobs with Portland Parks. This doesn't mean there's a job open right now, but we're happy you're interested!
Responsibilities
- Attendant: Events Host (18+)
- Customer Service Representative (18+)
- Parks Activities Specialist Jobs: Instructor I (16+)
- Parks Activities Specialist Jobs: Instructor II (18+)
- Parks Activities Specialist Jobs: Specialized Arts Instructor (18+)
Requirements
- Create a welcoming and friendly environment.
- Knows about the assigned recreation area.
- Talk clearly with different groups of people.
- Notice and handle safety and emergency situations.
- Solve problems and help with customer concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 500 hours of prior teaching experience for Specialized Arts Instructor jobs.
- Significant traditional or non-traditional professional learning and/or development.
Skills
- Knowledge of arts/music equipment.
- Basic customer service skills.
- Ability to teach and inspire.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.

Pay
- Attendant and Customer base pay is $20.59 - $24.03 (entry is $20.59).
- Parks Activities Specialist Pay: The training pay is $19.61 for all Parks Activities Specialist jobs.
- Instructor I base pay is $19.61 - $22.88 (entry is $19.61).
- Instructor II base pay is $21.79 - $28.87 (entry is $21.79 - $25.06 based on experience).
- Specialized Arts Instructor base pay is $32.68 - $41.40 (entry is $32.68 - $38.14 based on experience).

Schedule
This job has flexible hours and might include working during the day, evenings, weekends, or holidays. The number of hours you work each week can change based on program needs, and there is no guarantee of work hours each week.
