Description
The Recreation Counselor at Chatham Bars Inn is responsible for motivating and interacting with children attending the CBI Kids Crew drop-off program and general resort activities. Responsibilities include implementing fun and exciting entertainment, ensuring the safety of all attendees, and organizing special events. Additional duties include managing bike rentals, handling related equipment rentals, and billing and selling rentals and bike shop merchandise. The ideal candidate should have two years of experience working with children or a related field, current CPR and First Aid certifications, and outgoing, personable, and energetic personality. They should also be creative, active, skilled in sports and games, and able to prioritize tasks and follow directions meticulously.
Requirements
- Two+ years’ experience working with groups of children or a related course of study (Elementary Education, Children’s Studies, Recreation & Leisure Studies, etc.)
- Current certification in CPR & First Aid
- Willing to work flexible hours with a rotating schedule to include weekends and holidays
- Outgoing, personable & energetic!
- Creative & Active
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Able to perform job functions with great attention to detail, professionalism, speed and accuracy
- Prioritize and organize
- Follow direction thoroughly
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
