Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the development, implementation, and day-to-day supervision of the City's recreation programs and activities.
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with community organizations, civic groups, vendors, and program participants.
- Coinciding and supporting community events, meetings, leagues, programs, tournaments, recreational activities, and community-led recreational initiatives.
- Scheduling and securing athletic fields, parks, coaches, referees, and other resources needed for successful programming and events.
- Supporting operational coordination of recreation programs and events, including the scheduling, permitting, logistics, vendor coordination, and compliance requirements.
- Reviewing applications and documentation to ensure compliance with insurance, licensing, and permit requirements.
- Aiding organizations and event users with navigating permitting and licensing processes.
- Monitoring food service operations during events to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supporting volunteer coordination and assisting with event set up and operational needs as required.
- Aiding in reports, communications, scheduling, and other administrative functions related to recreational programming and facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in recreation programming, community engagement, event coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for programs and special events.
- Strong computer skills, including using Microsoft Office, online scheduling systems, and digital communication tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting salary range of $74,724 - $78,507, depending on qualifications.
