Essential Functions/Typical Tasks
- Open and close the facility and amenities of the facility daily.
- Inspection amenities and facilities to ensure safety at all times.
- Grass cutting, leaf blowing, lining fields, sweeping, and mopping as needed.
- Cleaning and stocking restrooms.
- Properly disposing of all trash on the premises.
- Monitoring facility and customer service including facility rentals.
- On-site supervision of public on the entire premises including enforcing rules and proper conduct.
- When applicable, oversee seasonal staff.
- Distribute and collect equipment/supplies as needed.
- Serve as the go-to person for Complex rules or for challenging situations/disputes on premises.
- Ensure organization and accuracy in paperwork including but not limited to facility inspection forms, accident/incident reports, work order submissions, etc.
- Communicate effectively with staff, officials, emergency personnel, Sheriff’s office, and the public.
- Provide routine information on facility policies, procedures, fees, and services.
- Assist with projects needed for upkeep or maintenance.
- Set up and break down for rentals and/or events.
- Attends trainings and conducts staff meetings as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- General knowledge of the operation of a weigh station;
- General knowledge of landfill disposal policies;
- Ability to use calculator in making simple mathematical calculations;
- Ability to write legibly and make written reports;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public;
- Ability to use computer system;
- Ability to maintain detailed records.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prefer knowledge and/or experience in facility supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires standing/walking during the assigned shift.
- This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound.
- Visual acuity is required for depth perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operation of equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, and noise.
Special Requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
- Possession of a valid driver's license in the state of North Carolina.
