Recreation Attendant-Clay Shooting Instructor

About the role

The Sporting Clay Instructor is responsible for providing high quality, positive and safe shooting experiences for all participants. The role involves greeting and instructing guests on clay shooting, safely operating firearms, providing personalized coaching on techniques such as stance, gun mount, and target tracking, and enforcing strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet and instruct guests on clay shooting
• Safely operate firearms
• Provide personalized coaching on techniques such as stance, gun mount, and target tracking
• Enforce strict safety protocols
• Manage range equipment (clay throwers)
• Lead private or group lessons for beginners to advanced shooters
• Ensure a safe, engaging experience
• Operate, clean, and restock clay target throwers
• Maintain the shooting course
• Assist guests in providing requested information and services

Requirements

• Driven, independent, self-motivated
• Experience with instructing outdoor activities
• Experience with customer service
• Ability to greet guests, conduct safety briefings, and deliver a welcoming experience
• Ability to inspect guns to ensure proper conditions
• Ability to instruct diverse audiences
• Ability to stand for long periods, work outdoors, and lift a minimum of 40 lbs
• Deep understanding of firearm safety

Hours of Operation

• Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Position Details

• Seasonal position
• Weekend hours (Thursday through Sunday)
• Holidays required
