Recreation Assistant (Sundays)

Responsibilities

• Reviews resident activity needs and plans total recreation programs based on individual needs and resident interest.
• Escorts residents to/from scheduled activities.
• Affords assistance in coordinating, documenting, and providing recreation activities, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outing trips, special events, and one-on-one visits as needed.
• Accompanies residents on trips as assigned.
• Communicates with other Piper Shores staff regarding resident concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a long-term care facility activities program preferred.
• Ability to work well with others in setting up events and coordinating activities with other departments.
• Solid communication skills.
• Strong desire and ability to work with the senior population.

Benefits

• Part-time Recreation Assistant participates in the department’s rotating schedule for holiday coverage.

The position is every Sunday. There may also be some flexibility to pick up additional shifts.
