Recreation Assistant

Responsibilities

• Planning, coordinating and implementing calendar activities based on the resident population interests.
• These activities will be designed to meet their physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Responsible for creating opportunities for daily 1:1 visits with all residents to invite and inform of activities, conversation, support, etc.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of the resident’s attendance and participation level
• Distribute and post material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting recreation space for residents, families, and staff
• Communicate with Director of Therapeutic Recreation for supply, program, and resident needs
• Perform appropriate therapeutic recreation interventions for residents
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma or GED
• Experience working with seniors or in a health care setting preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to anticipate resident needs are qualities for success in this position

Benefits

Pay: $17.50-20.00/hour, depending on education/licensure level and employment experience.
