About the role
Hattie Larlham is a not-for-profit disability service organization providing care and support to over 1,600 children and adults throughout Ohio. We enhance the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families through our commitment to comfort, joy, and achievement. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities, including pool sessions, entertainment, special events, and in-house programming.
- Provide appropriate care, supervision, and support to individuals served during recreational activities, outings, and events.
- Cookordination, scheduling, and driving individuals to community field trips and activities for individuals served.
- Accurately document all recreational activities and community trips in a timely manner.
- Assist with volunteer group orientation and help maintain areas where recreation activities take place.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities or special needs is preferred.
- An Ohio Driver's License and ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen in order to drive a Hattie Larlham vehicle.
- The ability to become certified in First Aid, CPR, and as a Shallow Water Lifeguard.
- Comfortable with providing direct care services to individuals served.
