Recreation and Rehabilitation Therapist

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and implements a therapeutic recreation/activities program on a regular basis to meet the individual client's needs and interests.

Requirements

• Must be registered or eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist, Dance Therapist, Art Therapist, or Recreation Therapist.
• Art Therapist: Registered or eligible for registration with the American Art Therapy Association.
• Dance Therapist: Registered or eligible for registration with the American Dance Therapy Association.
• Music Therapist: Bachelor’s degree in music therapy and registered or eligible for registration with the National Association for Music Therapy.
• Occupational Therapist: Registered or eligible for registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one year of which was full-time in a client activities program in a mental health setting or a Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation with registration or eligibility for registration as a recreation therapist by the California Board of Parks and Recreation Certification or the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
• California driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.

Pay

Pay Range: $50 USD - $55 USD per hour. Final salary offered will be based on factors including but not limited to candidate's skills, experience, licensure, and program acuity.

Schedule

Full-Time: AM shift.

Crestwood’s Sonoma County Healing Center provides an alternative to traditional psychiatric care through collaboration, empowerment, a healing environment, peer providers, family partners, and a recovery-oriented milieu. Our PHF program offers structure and support to promote stabilization and foster recovery, with goals to restore hope, self-empowerment, and realize each client’s potential. The program also provides a transition plan to enable a successful return to the community.
